The Manali Whirlwind of Joy has left the building.

Wow. 🤩

What a couple of weeks we had with our smiling, happy, beautiful, knowledgeable special guest teacher.

Before she left, Manali had some nice things to say about Bikram Yoga & Wellness students.

Apparently, we are:

  • Fun

  • Strong

  • Engaged

  • Connected

As Manali says,

“The credit goes to you.”

No resting on our laurels — let's keep improving

That's enough patting ourselves on the back.

Let's get stuck in and talk about how to practice our yoga better, using an example from Manali's posture clinic to draw out an important principle.

Manali posture clinic

First, check out these shots in which the fabulous Lisa is killing it in Balancing Stick.

What do you see? 👀

  • Arms and head together? ✅

  • Chin forward? ✅

  • "T" as in Tom? ✅

  • Every muscle contracted? ✅

That's right — Lisa's technique is top notch. 😎

And what's Manali helping Lisa do more of (especially in the top photo)?

Have a gold star if you said:

Stretch and stretch and stretch and stretch and stretch, stretch, stretch, stretch.

How to be the best Bikram Yoga student you can be

“Just follow the Dialogue.”

Bikram Choudhury

Follow the Dialogue. That's what Manali did with Lisa in Balancing Stick.

And it's what all of us should do every time we put our toes on the line in the hot room.

And here's a HUGE key to following the Dialogue like a champion 🏆:

What the Dialogue does not say is as important as what it does say.

This is a principle we want you to burn into your brain, whether or not you attended Manali's posture clinic and classes.

  • If the Dialogue doesn't say anything about your hips, don't worry about your hips.

  • If it doesn't say anything about your chest, don't worry about your chest.

  • If it doesn't say anything about your spine, don't worry about your spine.

Follow the Dialogue word by word. Don't add. Don't subtract. 🙅‍♂️🧮

Got it? Sure, you do. 👍
